John was born in 1956 in Montreal, Quebec, and grew up in Ville Brossard on the South Shore. He worked in sales to pulp and paper mills for many years, living in Calgary and Edmonton before settling in Vancouver. It was there, on Granville Island, that John met his wife, Lynne, while taking a sailing course. It was on a sailing trip to the Bahamas where they fell in love and later married on April 27th 1991. They went on to have two sons, Alex and Bryan. The family enjoyed many summers camping in Summerland and later Lynne and John took to RVing down in Palm Springs. John loved sailing, dirt biking and as a whole family took up taekwondo - eventually getting his first degree black belt. John and Lynne retired to Victoria where they were welcomed by their island family. John died peacefully on April 22, 2024. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lynne, in 2021 and is survived by his sons, Alex and Bryan (Jamie) and sister, Audrey. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
