It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, Jon Robert “Jay” Kocsis, on Monday, September 30, 2019, at age 51, in Saanich, British Columbia. He was doing what he loved: riding his motorcycle through the beautiful backroads of Victoria.
Jon is survived by his mother, Beverly Jean (née Hall) Harris and her husband, Gord. Beloved father of Nikole (Anthony) Bak, Krystal Kocsis, Jayde Kocsis, and Brooklyn Kocsis, brother to Brett (Carly) Kocsis and Craig (Marina) Kocsis, loving uncle to nieces Ashley Kocsis, Tamara Young, Sienna Kocsis, and Hailey Kocsis.
Jon was born January 25, 1968, in Toronto to Robert Kocsis and Beverly Hall. Jon was a successful business owner of the companies Whatsewever and PSI Apparel for many years. He returned to college in 2017 to further his education as an AutoCAD Drafting and Design Specialist, and in 2018, graduated with honours from Brighton College in British Columbia. He was very passionate about his work and often loved talking to everyone about it. He excelled in just a short amount of time, prompting his employer to mention how impressive Jon was at his new job and that he was a great part of their team.
Jon enjoyed the outdoors, often seen hiking, camping, or mountain biking; he also had a passion for motorcycles. He would intentionally take the long way home from work just to ride through the beautiful scenery on his motorcycle and relax. He will now be reunited with his father Robert “Bob” Kocsis. Jon will be missed by many friends, family, and colleagues. He was always willing to help and encourage those around him, and we will all cherish those memories forever.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has already taken place.
There will be a celebration of life, and family and friends will be notified.
