We always had a good time when we visited Gerry and Marina. We were very welcome to stay and we will always think of Gerry with love and respect

Perdre un frère, c'est si difficile pour moi. Je pleure car il était pour moi mon ami, mon confident, celui avec qui je pouvais rire ou pleurer selon les moments. 
Je me joins à ma soeur, mes frères (et épouses), mon mari ainsi qu'aux neveux et nièces pour offrir toutes mes sympathies en ces moments difficiles.

Grandpa was always so caring for anyone that came into his home.  One time I stopped at his home on my drive from Edmonton to Port Hardy and I was dog tired.  His recliner was very comfortable and I was soon sleeping peacefully.  While I was dozing grandpa went out and bought me oil and a new oil filter to change the oil on my car as he felt it would be safer to keep up maintenance(the car was very questionable as to it’s condition).  When I woke up he had the pan ready to drop the oil out including rags and a piece of plywood so I wouldn’t have to lay on the street.  It was just his way, always a pat on the shoulder and a positive word of support regardless of your behaviour.  I will always remember that smile and caring.  

 I consider dad a great friend. He was a great example to me.The love he had for his wife is an incredible testimony. His sacrifice to her for all those years . Looking after her caring for her everything he did.  I will miss him! I will always remember him! All the best to his family and all his friends :)

All of my memories with Uncle Gerry are happy ones. I fondly remember him dancing with Aunt Marina at so many family weddings over the years. I have a nice photo of the two of them when we met up at YVR they were on their way to walk the Great Wall of China or one of their glorious adventures. (I’ll try and post it!) My love and sympathies to you all.
