Boomer, June Ruth (Alberts)
It is with heavy hearts and wonderful memories that we share June’s passage into Glory on January 8, 2024. June was born in Winnipeg MB, May 28, 1935. She was predeceased by her parents Doris and Laurence Alberts and by her sister Ruth (Terry). She leaves behind her devoted husband of 69 years Bud and their children Bill (Linda), Ted (Joanne), Rick (Janine); grandchildren, Laura (Matt), Mike (Fran), Chris, Jennifer, Matthew, Heather; great grandchildren, Chase, Wyatt and Hudson, also many nieces and nephews.
June loved life, family and friends. Her presence would light up a room and her smile was unforgettable. She loved to entertain and welcomed everyone into her home. One of her fondest memories was preparing home cooked meals for Pearson College students who called her their Canadian Mom. June was a Navy wife who worked full time while raising her young family. She created lifelong memories for her family recognizing and celebrating special occasions and holidays.
June always looked beautiful whether dressed for a formal event or relaxing at home in blue jeans. She loved to have fun and her laugh was infectious. She was a pianist, a swimmer and a figure skater. She loved to sew and would dance forever.
She was a devoted Christian and a member of St. Mary’s Metchosin and the Open Gate Church for the last 50 years.
These past few years she has battled health issues and done so with dignity. Our sincere thanks to the caring staff at the Heights at Mt View.
A Celebration of June’s life will be held on the 19th January, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Saanich Baptist Church.
