From an early age, Kuljit dreamed of seeing the world. She found joy in traveling and sharing laughter with her family and friends, whose company brought out her playful spirit. Above all else, what Kuljit cherished most was her daughter, Meena. Her proudest moment was watching Meena earn her doctorate, an achievement that filled her with deep pride and joy.
Kuljit graduated from Victoria High School and soon began building a life grounded in hard work and connection. She found her greatest joy in working alongside others, forming lasting bonds at the Dockyard in Victoria and later at the Canada Post Office in Vancouver.
Kuljit moved to Vancouver so that her daughter Meena could attend a school for the deaf, a decision that reflected her deep devotion and selflessness as a mother. Her warmth, generosity, and vibrant sense of humour brought joy wherever she went. She didn’t just do her job, she uplifted those around her, making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.
Kuljit was born and raised in Victoria, where she fondly remembered growing up on Graham Street across from the temple, spending carefree days playing outside with friends and family.
Family was always at the centre of Kuljit’s life. She was ever ready to help care for her siblings, Meena, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews; each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Kuljit leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and living life with joy. She hoped others would learn from her how to have fun, live freely, and care deeply.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to all who enriched Kuljit’s life with friendship, kindness, and love.
