Linda was born in the English country village of Hedge End April 22, 1927 to her parents, John Chalk and Alice Parvin. She married Peter Louis Dymond in 1945 and came to Canda (Southern Ontario) in 1947 with Peter and her daughter, Hilary. Peter became an Anglican minister. Linda supported him in his parishes and was a loving Mum to her children. Linda’s love of nature and animals led her to devote 25 years as a volunteer at the Beacon Hill Children’s Farm shortly after moving to Victoria in 1986. Her love of the goats and all the animals was shared with her family and visitors to the farm. Linda also supported several animal charities.
Linda was predeceased by her husband Peter, daughter Frances, son-in-law Wilf, sisters Vera and Brenda and brother John.
She is survived by daughter Hilary (Wallace), son Matthew (Rita), grandchildren Trevor and Gregory (Jody), Richard and Christina, Great-granddaughters Zoe and Jade (Adrian) and great- great -granddaughter Evelyn. Many other family members still reside in England. She also leaves behind her dear friends Lynda and Dennis Koenders and all those she met while working at the farm.
A warm thank you goes out to all who befriended Linda, her doctors and health care workers, especially those who cared for her at Saanich Peninsula Hospital during her final years.
No formal service by request. Donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the Beacon Hill Children’s Farm.
