Mary B. Holt

Predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Gilbert Currier Holt and her sister Freda Brown of Nanaimo, BC. Mary leaves her brother Gordon Johnston, three children; Cyril (Maria), Raymond (Theresa), Joy (John), five grandchildren; Leah, Meagan, Stanley, Michael, Michaela and one great grandchild Finley, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was born on “the farm” and raised there until she moved to Victoria with her family at the age of 14. After finishing school Mary worked as a supervisor at Victoria Bed and Mattress’ until she was married in 1952. Mary enjoyed raising her family as well as running an at home daycare for many children for over two decades during the 1960’s and 70’s.

Many thanks to the staff (past and present) at Oak Bay Lodge who cared for Mary for more than eleven years. A special thank you to Judy Evans her devoted companion for many years.

A loving mother, devoted wife and loyal friend, it is with great sadness in our hearts that we say good-bye. We will never forget you. Rest in Peace.
