She was predeceased by her son Rui (2015) and is survived by Anibal, her devoted husband of 65 years. As well as her loving daughters Manuela and Grace; son-in-law Bill and the grandchildren she adored: Christopher, James and Melanie, Mark Rui and Andrea. Normanda immigrated to Canada (Winnipeg, MB) in 1968 with her family.
She was a fabulous cook, gracious hostess and was active in the Portuguese community where Anibal was Vice-Consul of Portugal (1971-1998). Since 1998 she called Victoria her “beautiful” home where she and Anibal led a quiet life together close to their children and grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.
The family wishes to thank the compassionate care of the doctors, nurses and staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital 4 SW, and her “dear friends” from Beacon Community Services home support.
