To Sherry and the Family....I am so sorry for your loss, your mom will be deeply missed, it was only last month we chatted at Costco and we were talking aboout going for lunch, the four of us...so sad that did not happen......you have our heartfelt condolences.....At least now she is with your dad...happy once again.....Hugs

I met Phyllis as a new neighbour in 2001.  I was 50. Her voice reached me before her presence.  She took me in like a stray cat, all the while informing me that she did not like animals.  She returned with a lawn chair and a TV and so it began, the great blessing of the force of Phyllis in my life.
When, at age 52, I adopted an infant, decades of friends faded away.  Phyllis became steadfast and diligent in our wellbeing. She offered sanctuary and substance to the very end.  Her generous spirit, humour and exceptional sense of spirit and keen intelligence gave me ballast to continue on. She is unforgettable.I am so fortunate to have had her in my life.
I thank her family for sharing her with me.  She loved each of you so deeply.

Mrs. B. was my P.E. teacher and volleyball coach at S.J. Willis. She organized activities for her "gym gang" that went on after school/evenings, I even remember she took a group of us bowling during the janitor's strike 1975. We had so much fun with her through those years, especially our volleyball road trips. My mom was always grateful that I had a Mrs. Beastall in my life to make jr. high such a memorable time. Mrs.B. had an amazing memory and wonderful sense of humor,  I will miss our visits.

Sherry I am so very sorry for your loss I remember stories from the days at the office about your mom and the family, keep your memories close to your heart. Hugs to you  and your family 'may the wings of the angels carry her home' love Magi...xxxx

This is the best auntie a girl could ask for. She has gone for her final trip into the stars. she lived a good long life and went out on her own terms as we all expected nothing less. She has traveled and did what she wanted all her life leaving behind a great bunch of memories for many people. so this is a the best picture I have ever seen of her and wanted to share it with you all. Love you auntie and I will see you on the other side.

Dear Sherry & family, 
Mrs Beastall was one of my favorite teachers at Oak Bay and she made PE bearable for sure. I loved her laughter and I had opportunity to reconnect in my adult life through her visits with Ab at the Appletree Restaurant and then through baseball.  She was a jovial individual who will be missed. Our Deepest Condolences to all of Mrs. Beastall's friends and family.

'Aunty'Phyllis was such a vibrant and inspiring lady. I have fond lake time memories with the family-especially the diving lessons. My sincere condolences to the family.

She was never my teacher but my sister had her in grade 6 at Fairburn. I have been fortunate enough to run into her in the last few uears a couple times, and never missed up the chance to chat with her. I will miss running into her, she was a great lady. My condolences to the Beastall family.

Mrs. Beastall was my PE teacher at SJ Willis.  While other teachers names and my experience with them have faded away over the years, hers has always remained. She was one of those teachers who followed the rules but also managed to do things her way. Which created a much better experience for us all.  Laura Podgorenko

I have remembered Mrs. Beastall fondly over the years since she was my PE teacher at Oak Bay.  She was the essence of encouragement and kindness. Her legacy lives on in those whom she taught, loved, and treasured.

The connections with Phyllis: Vic High days and basketball to mutual baseball grandparents.  We will remember her with fondness.

Mrs. Beastall was my PE teacher at SJ Willis, in the early seventies.  I was not athletic, but she was so kind and understanding.  I remember one of the boys (in Mr. Andrews side of the gym) sneering at whatever she said about sit-ups.  She challenged him to do sit-ups alongside of her and she got down on the floor, and boy she out-did him HANDS DOWN!  I cannot tell you how this really impressed me!

I was a gym-rat and she was the big cheese. S.J. Willis would not have been the same without her booming voice and constant laugh.

May the love of Family and Friends help you through this difficult time. Nanny will always be in our hearts.

Our family called her grandma Phyllis. 
She was always upbeat even if she was having a bad day. She told great stories and was always there help and encouragement. 
We miss her so much already. She has a special place in my heart and will never be forgotten. Xo

Miss Cockburn was my teacher in Grade 4  at Tillicum school,and in that same  year she was married. She was one of my very favorite teachers.
