Ram Parkash Chauhan

On February 20, 1931, Ram Parkash Chauhan was born to his mother, Rao Kaur, and father, Bhagat Ram, in the village of Garhi Mahan Singh in Punjab, India. He was the eldest of four siblings. While his wife cared for their children and managed the household, he worked in Ludhiana until the family moved there together in 1970.

His compassion and dedication to his family carried across great distances—from India to England, to Canada, and the United States. In the summer of 1986, Ram Parkash moved to Canada to live with his son, Gurcharan Chauhan, daughter‑in‑law Mohinder Kumari Chauhan, and grandchildren Sonia, Raman, and Vishall, along with his wife, Udham Kaur Chauhan, and younger daughter Krishna. His daughter Tej and her husband, Harbhajan, reside in England. His younger daughter Krishna, her husband Parvinder, and their children also live in Victoria.

Ram Parkash was full of love and possessed a genuinely kind‑hearted nature. Nothing brought him greater joy than being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. The words family, oneness, and unity resonated deeply with him. With a profound sense of responsibility, he devoted his life to the Sant Nirankari Mission. To his grandchildren and to many others, there was no distinction—Papa Ji is what everyone lovingly called him. Wherever he was, he found his greatest happiness simply in being with his family.

Ram Parkash merged into the formless Nirankar on June 17, 2026, in Victoria, BC. He was surrounded by his entire family at the time of his passing. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Udham Kaur Chauhan. He is survived by his son, Gurcharan Chauhan, daughter in-law Mohinder Kumari Chauhan, daughters Tej Kaur and Krishna Birdi, son in-law Harbhajan Lal and Parvinder Birdi, and grandchildren.
