Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and soon to be Great, Great Grandfather, uncle and friend. Predeceased by his wives, Blanche Joyce in 1978 and Leta Margaret in 2016. Dad was the last of ten siblings, Albert, Ken, Doris, Elsie, Mary, Irene, Stan, Rita and Donald. Survived by son David (Linda)
Sanders, daughter Jennifer (Jim) Roach, beloved grandchildren Christine, Rodney, Shannon,
Justin and great-grandchildren Julian, Chase, Elias, Jaden and his dear Avery.
Dad will also miss the birth of his first great, great granddaughter whom he would loved to have met.
Survived also by several nieces and nephews both here and in England. He loved his garden
and puttering around in his garage. He never threw anything out as "he might make use of it
later". He loved English football, darts, pool, bowling, cards, watching Judge Judy, spending
time in Mexico and his hometown of Derby, England, and beer in a warm glass. He served in
the British army and was recalled to Rolls Royce as a machinist on aircraft engines.
After coming to Canada in 1954 he worked at McDonald's Consolidated (Safeway's warehouse) for a
very long time as a warehouseman and was involved in the union. He was a staunch NDP'r.
Thank you to everyone who made his last few months as best as they could. Special thanks to
the Home Instead team Jim, Hugh and Ken. Also our appreciation to the Amica staff and his
doctors. Thank you to the lunch bunch and his card playing cohorts for your friendship.
You can go home now Dad without pain and loneliness.
No service by request but the family will host a "celebration of life" in the near future.
