Ruth Vera King

She was the sister of Noreen Hepworth (Mead) and Donna Tamaki and was predeceased by her husband Jack King and later companion James Chow. Ruth is survived by her daughter Georgia Goodwyn, sons Keith (Noelle) and Fred, and her beloved grandchildren: Peter (Janet), Paul (Carley), Jennifer (Tony), Graham, Matthew (Shay), and Kate, and great-grandchildren Elliot, Jack, Charlotte, Sam, Drake, Jude, and Wilder.

Ruth worked in the accounting department at Jubilee Hospital for 25 years and was a dedicated member of St. John’s Church. She also volunteered at the Esquimalt Baby Clinic, where she assisted the public health nurses, showing her deep care and commitment to her community. She spent many happy years between California and Canada, forming lasting friendships in both places. Later in life, she discovered a love for painting that brought her great joy.

Ruth brought light to everyone around her. She will be missed deeply and remembered fondly by all who knew her.

A memorial service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on Sunday, September 14th at 2:00 PM at the Esquimalt Gorge Pavilion, located at 1070 Tillicum Road, Victoria, BC. All who knew Ruth are welcome to attend.
