June 3rd, 1949 – January 24th, 2016
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Satnaam (Simon) Singh Baines. Predeceased by his parents, Amrik Singh and Harbans Kaur Baines, Simon passed away suddenly at home with his loving wife Manjeet by his side. With a unique sense of humour, Simon was known for spreading joy and laughter wherever he went. He will be fondly remembered for his zest for life.
Simon is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Manjeet, as well as their sons of whom he was very proud: Mandeep (Simi, Niyaaz, Keerat) and Amandev (Sonya, Tzari, Zaya). He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters Ranjit Baines and Darshe (Harbhajan) Birk and their families.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am Friday, January 29th at First Memorial, 4725 Falaise Drive, immediately followed by services at the Sikh Temple, 1210 Topaz Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
