Vesta was the daughter of Thomas Robert Briggs and Kathleen Gwyneth Briggs. Vesta was born at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. She lived in Victoria for the greater part of her early childhood and as a young adult until she married Alfred Utz and moved to Courtenay. After Alfred’s early passing in 1970, she single handedly raised her three young children Tom, Debbie and Kathy.
In 1980, when working at the School Board in Courtenay, Vesta met and fell in love with Roy Evans. They subsequently married in 1982 creating a blended family with Roy’s children Tim, Russ and Kim.
Vesta and Roy returned to Victoria in 2005 and resided happily in Langford until her passing
Vesta’s wishes are that there be no service or memorial.
