Carolyn Townsend’s soul left this earth on the morning of February 20, 2017 to join her Lord and Savior in Heaven. She will be met in Heaven by her beloved husband of 58 years, Cecil Townsend, two sons, Randy and Cecil, and many friends who shared her love of living and serving her Savior while on this earth. Carolyn is survived by three daughters, two sons-in-law, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Carolyn lived a full and blessed life. She was a devoted wife and patient mother. She owned and operated an upholstery shop, worked for Sears as the interior decorator, owned and operated CT Surplus, and in her retirement years was famous for her biscuits and gravy at the men’s prayer breakfast, sought after for her homemade pies, a coveted partner and a dreaded opponent at the domino table. Carolyn was always available to drive someone to the doctor or grocery store, prepare and deliver a catfish dinner, and of course ruin a diet with her pies or banana bread. She spent many hours listening to her teenage grandchildren’s secrets, praying fiercely for them, and then later marveling at the beauty and love of her great grandchildren.
We feel blessed to have been a part of her life and invite you, her loved friends, to join us in celebrating her life on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Colonial Funeral Home from 6-8pm, and again on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Faith Family Church at 10am, followed by the burial at Crescent Valley Cemetery.
