

Allan went to work at Union Carbide as an early hire in 1954 and retired in 1984. He also had a farm and ranching business called Kovar Farms.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, ImaDell Kovar; daughter, Diane Prause of Yoakum and brothers, Monroe and Leonard Kovar both of Victoria.
Allan was known as Pop to his children and is survived by his son, Darrell (Sherry) Kovar of Victoria; daughter, Vivian (Robert) Cornelius of Victoria; brother, Joe T. Kovar Jr. of Victoria; sister, Loraine Patterson of Baytown; and Allan’s companion, Peggy Ewing.
Known as “Big Dad” by his grandchildren, Bradley (Laurie) Moore of Austin, Scott (Aimee) Prause of Victoria; Lorna (Robert) Herman of Yoakum, Kaylan Kovar of Victoria and Kendall Kovar of Victoria.
Big Dad is also survived by his great grandchildren, Jacob and Jamie Moore of Austin, Ashlee and Brett Prause of Victoria; Kaci Herman of Yoakum, Tucker and Madison Chesney of Victoria.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, from 6-8 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 10 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Hurt officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brad Moore, Scott Prause, Kendall Kovar, Robert Herman, Leslie Prause, Jerry Kovar, Allan Slavik and Chris Slavik.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Herron, Ross Cook and Dr. Larry Riedel.
