

Angeline Pavlas Kubala, age 88, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010. She was born October 20, 1921 in Abbott, Texas to the late Joe and Clara Urban Pavlas. During WWII, Angelina served as a “Rosie the Rivetor”. She retired from Citizens Medical Center after working for many years in the Dietary Dept. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, was a member of the Altar Society and was formerly active with the quilting group at the church. She was also a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court of St. Ann.
She is survived by her daughter, Maxine Smajstrla and husband John W. of Victoria; six grandchildren, Dianna Smajstrla Foertsch and husband Robert, Kody Wayne Smajstrla and wife Jennifer, Klint Smajstrla, Mark Kubala and wife Rhonda, Kimberly Kubala, and Stacey Kubala-Ledwik and husband Michael; six great grandchildren, Alyssa and Ashton Foertsch, Mallory, Macey, and Kolton Kubala, and Aubree Ledwik.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Les Pavlas Kubala; and brother, Albert Pavlas.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, September 27, 2010 at Colonial Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held 9:00 am Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dan Morales officiating. Graveside Services will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday at the Fatima Cemetery in Abbott, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
