

Carlton Lee Bivens passed away on October 5, 2016. He was born April 7, 1933 in Jennings, Louisiana to the late Charlie Franklin Bivens and Mary Martha Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Maxine Bivens, two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Peggy Pair Bivens of Inez; his sons, Carlton Bivens, Jr. of Columbus and Gary (Lisa) Bivens and Edward (Tammy) Bivens of Victoria; extended family, Diann (Hague) Dunlap of Corpus Christi, Tim (Susan) Pair of Ganado, Scott (Cindy) Pair and Tamye (David) Crockett of Victoria; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Carlton served in the Army as an Airborne Field Artillery Crewman from June 1953 to June 1956. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum in Point Comfort, and spent several years farming in the Ganado area. His special contributions were his legendary Sunday lunches for the family after church. Carlton was a handyman extraordinare who owned every tool known to man. He would lend you his tools, and then you would receive a new one for your next birthday! Go Astros!
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel follow by a funeral service at 2 pm. Graveside services will follow at Ganado City Cemetery at 3:30 pm.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Pair, Clay Crockett, Brett Pair, Jody Mac Pair, Wayne McDonald and Michael Weaver.
Honorary pallbearers will be all 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
