Catherine Janet Pyle Currie, 80, of Jourdanton, formerly of Victoria passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015. She was born November 4, 1934 in Houston to the late John Wesley and Velma Johnston Pyle. She was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. Her devotion to her Lord and Savior was demonstrated through her work at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where she was recognized with the Outstanding Service Award for teaching children's Sunday school for 54 years.
Survivors include her sons, Glenn Roy Currie of Round Rock and Phil Ray Currie of Victoria; daughters, Patty Lyn Currie Romo of Jourdanton and Annette Currie Markovich of Mico, Texas; sister, Jerrie Moore of Bandera; 10 grandchildren and 1.5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Job H. Currie; and a brother, Fred G. Moore.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 pm Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Monday, June 8, 2015 at Locker Cemetery in San Saba County, Texas.
