

Clarice Mary Nitschmann Hall, 90, of Victoria, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016. She was born in Victoria, Texas to Rhienold and Ludmilla Kalich Nitschmann on July 28, 1925. She lived her entire life in Victoria and attended Victoria public schools. She married Victor Hanselka and they were the original owners of Hanselka Electric. Victor died in 1975 and Clarice married Virgil Hambleton in 1977, he died in 1989. She later married Floyd Fread, who died in 1998. She has been married to Don Hall since October 6, 2001. She loved to travel, fish, play cards, dance and good food, especially Mexican food.
During her lifetime she enjoyed traveling to several countries in Europe, Canada, and several states of the lower 48 states. She belonged to several local organizations including the Catholic Daughters of America for 65 years, past member of the Pilot Club and the Serra Club of Victoria. She was also a member of a Polka Dance group who entertained at local area nursing homes and other facilities. She was a member of the Victoria Polka, Waltz Club, the local Country Western Dance Club and Past President of the Victoria Dance Club. She won several trophies for Ballroom dancing locally, in Dallas, San Antonio and Corpus Christi. Clarice was a member of the First Ladies of Victoria at Prosperity Bank. She was an avid Spurs fan and loved shopping with her daughters. She was also active with St. Joseph High School as a home room mother for her son’s class. She and her first husband, Victor Hanselka worked extensively with local 4H clubs, stock show and Victoria Trail Riders. They guided their children in being able to show several animals and winning awards. Clarice and Don traveled extensively during their first 10 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband, Don Hall; daughters, Angie Easley (Jimmy) of Inez, Linda Spencer of San Antonio; son, David Hanselka, DVM (Gail) of Victoria; grandchildren, Melissa Coffey (Jeff) of Victoria, Kristen Daniell (Mike), Adam Spencer, Leah Hanselka Jacobson MD (Trey), all of San Antonio, Jeff Hanselka (Brandi) of La Vernia, TX, Dan Hanselka of College Station, TX, Katie Rosenbusch PHD (Corey) of Falls Church, Virginia; and great grandchildren, Megan Bull, Jacob Coffey, Presley Daniell, Andrew Jacobson, Emily Jacobson, K.C. Jacobson, Bradin Hanselka, Barrett Hanselka, Cecily Hanselka, Hannah Rosenbusch, Ava Rosenbusch and Elle Rosenbusch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alfred Nitschmann and grandson, Todd Easley.
The family will receive guests at Holy Family Catholic Church from 5 to 7 pm followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Bishop David Fellhauer officiating. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Adam Spencer, Jeff and Dan Hanselka; granddaughters, Melissa Coffey, Leah Jacobson and Katie Rosenbusch. Honorary pallbearers are Monroe and Mary Margaret Rieger, Elgin and Cecil Jansenn, Dan and Barbara Respondek.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers that took such loving care of my wife and our mother for the last few years of her life. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Hospice of South Texas, St. Joseph High School or donor’s choice.
