Darren enjoyed building and riding motorcycles, going on mission trips to Zambia, chinese buffets, and spending time with his children and granddaughter. He loved Christ and was devoted to teaching others about Him. He loved serving his church family and helping others in need no matter the sacrifice.
He was a river rat that loved to find swimming holes and float down the beautiful Texas rivers. He loved to be on a boat fishing at Port O’ Connor or dove hunting in the hill country. He had a passion for finding arrowheads and anything he could trade for other antiques. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved to travel the U. S. buying and selling at swap meets with his best friend Joe.
Darren was preceded in death by his father, Larry Tom.
He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Tom of Victoria, Texas; children, Jeremy (Kristie) Tom of Houston, Texas and Becka Tom (Edward Drost) of Victoria, Texas; granddaughter, Penelope Tom of Houston, Texas; mother of his children, Ginger Wilborn of Victoria, Texas; brothers, Dennis (Julie) Tom of Fort Worth, Texas; Mark Tom (Renee Conners) of Katy, Texas; and Troy (Misty) Tom of Abilene, Texas; aunt and uncle, Johnny and Wanda Schulze of Victoria, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
