
She was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, on February 12, 1961, and was the daughter of Vivian Baker Permenter, Brownsville, Texas and Nelson Permenter, Brownsville, Texas.
She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Brownsville, Texas, and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Texas at Brownsville and Master of Science Degree from Texas A&M at Kingsville as well as continuing with doctoral studies at Texas Tech University. She taught math at St. Joseph Academy, Porter High School, Texas A&M at Kingsville and Texas Tech University.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Marion and Ollie Baker and aunts, Barbara Baker Crixell and Catherine Baker Freeman.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Karr, Victoria, Texas; sons, Michael Karr, Dallas, Texas, and Justin (Gabriela) Karr, Houston, Texas; stepsons, Daniel Karr, Houston, Texas, and Stephen (Tiffany) Karr and grandchildren Kamren and Kaden, Washington, D.C.; brother, David (Kirsten) Permenter and niece, Anorah, Los Angeles, California; sister, Donna (Chris) Browne and nephew, Derek, Brownsville, Texas; sister-in-law, Donna (Eddie) Hadlock, niece, Heather and nephew, David; uncle, Vincent (Martha) Crixell; cousins, Viveca (Nick) Serafy and Niko, Paul (Lauren), Jason and Clayton; Monique (Roger) Keller and Ricco, Brownsville, Texas; Laurette Kirby, and Haley, Houston, and Westin, San Antonio, Texas; Patrice (Chad) McAllister, and Taylor, Madison, and Chase, Auburn, Mississippi; and Marion (Leslie) Freeman, Matthew and Jonathan, Delray Beach, Florida.
Arrangements are being handled by Rosewood Funeral Home, Victoria, Texas. Due to the pandemic, a private memorial will be held at a later date.
