She was born June 30, 1929 to the late Claude Hill Sr and Juanita Ralston Hill. She married the love of her life, Bill Duckett, on September 28, 1946.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bill Duckett; children, Kathy Kapsiak (David), Dean Duckett (Chris), and Cherie Norris; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Betty Bachus and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin Duckett; grandson, Michael Duckett; three brothers and two sisters.
Dorothy was a Christian and was a Great Witness for her faith in Christ Jesus. She taught Sunday School and visited the elderly with her husband spreading lots of love and happiness. She worked at Citizens Hospital as a Ward Clerk. She had a talent of writing and all of her family and friends looked forward to her Christmas letters and her Genealogy findings that she shared with her family.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Diaz, Harbor Hospice, her special nurse, Kari Gusman, and caregiver, Sylvia Delgado for their compassion and devotion to Dorothy and her family.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, May 17, 2019 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral Services will begin at 2 pm Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Rosewood Chapels, and interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Tommy Price, her nephew will officiate.
