

Faye Marie Hnatek, 85, of Victoria passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011. She was born October 14, 1925, in Nursery, to the late Dave and Irene Bush Nichols. She was a graduate of Patti Welder High School and attended Victoria College. She was employed by the Rural Electric Association, but spent the majority of her life as a homemaker and mother. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Victoria and was a member of the WMU and taught in the first grade Sunday School class for many years. She was a member of The Morning Study Club, the Brownson-Terrace Garden Club, and Eastern Star. She also served as President of the Stingarette Booster Club in 1977.
Survivors include her brother, Billy Wayne Nichols; her daughter Jan Faye Hnatek West, and her husband, Jim, of Broaddus; son, Joe David Hnatek and his wife, Lynn, of Lubbock; grandchildren, John Franklin West, Sarah Lynnette Hnatek, Joshua Kyle Hnatek, Caleb Ryan Hnatek, and Samuel Glenn Hnatek; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Hnatek; her brothers, Victor LaVerne Nichols and Harold Nichols; and sister-in-law, Margaret Hnatek.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2011, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 20, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Revs. James Shamburger and Shawn Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Hnatek, Johnny West, Caleb Hnatek, Samuel Hnatek, Dr. Jerry Pentecost, and Paul Kinghorn.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Victoria, Raider Ranch Memory Care Unit of Lubbock, or the charity of your choice.
