

Buck (Floyd Dale) Wilcox was born November 26,1935 to Alvin and Octavia Wilcox in Estancia, New Mexico. He went to his heavenly home on February 17, 2025, surrounded by his wife and daughter. Buck was a 24-year Army Veteran who served in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroism there. For most of his service, he was in the Military Police. He also taught at two Academies- The Non-Commissioned Officers and the Military Police.
Buck was a born-again child of God and served most of his adult life as a Deacon in his churches around the world. It has been said about Buck that he was the last true Christian gentleman. He was a favorite of everyone who ever met him.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Barbara, his sister Jane Davidson, and his son Terry. He is survived by his wife LaNett Wilcox, sons Scott (Marie) Wilcox, Brian Wilcox, daughter Rhonda Wilcox, stepsons Kennis (Jeannie) Heinold and Jerry (Jenny) Heinold, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Buck chose not to have a funeral only a graveside service which will be held at Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1520 Wurzbach Road San Antonio, Texas 78209 at a date to be determined. His graveside service will be officiated by his grandson, Jerry Heinold.
In lieu of flowers for the service, donations can be made in Buck’s honor to the 25th Military Police Reunion Fund, @Brian Bisacre, 250 Old Mill Road, New Oxford, PA 17350. Checks only, please.
