Frances Ann Newman Stephens Forman, 85, passed away on February 20, 2026. Frances was born in Victoria, TX, on August 14, 1940. She graduated in May 1958 in the first class from Victoria High School. She was also in the first class of Vocational Nurses from Victoria College in 1960.
Frances married Charles “Fred” Stephens, and they lived in the Houston area until his death in 1993. Frances worked for the Alief School District for 28 years as a school nurse. After retirement, she married J. Desmond Forman in June 2000 and moved to Victoria.
She was a keen bridge player, crafter, seamstress, gardener, and reader. She loved to travel and was the treasurer for the VHS class of 58 fiftieth reunion. She was an active member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Faris Meyer Newman; Father and Mother-in-law, Thomas and Gail Stephens; Jesse and Beatrice Glanton Forman; her first husband, Charles Frederick Stephens; and her second husband, J. Desmond Forman.
Frances is survived by her children: sons William Stephens, Charles Stephens, and Thomas Stephens, and wife Cynthia; and her daughter, Carol Stephens Pomering, and husband Ray. Her sisters, Roberta Hanson and husband Michael, Sharon Alsop and husband Bruce. Her grandchildren, Alexander Stephens and wife Laurie, Elizabeth Stephens, Brittany Marvin, and husband Josh. Frances also leaves behind four great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Services will begin at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2026, all at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Victoria, TX.
