Gary Lowell Jeffers

Gary Lowell Jeffers was born on March 9, 1956, in Houston, Texas, to George Lowell Jeffers and Clara Mae Hamman Jeffers. He grew up in Houston, Texas, and spent an extended period in Australia while his father worked with Exxon. The family later moved to Tyler, Texas, where Gary graduated from Robert E. Lee High School.

He went on to earn a degree in drafting from Texas Junior College in 1977. Shortly thereafter, he began his career with Tenneco Coal Company in Tyler, Texas. He later moved to Denver, Colorado, to work with Professional Energy, Inc., beginning many happy years in the mountains—backpacking, exploring, and sharing adventures with friends.

Gary married Sherry D. Adams in their family church in 1986. Together they had three children: Garrett L. Jeffers, Adam L. Jeffers, and Jase M. Jeffers.

He built a long career in the South Texas oil fields and retired from J&J Supply in 2024.

Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed backpacking through Colorado and spent much of his time at the family farm in Mission Valley, Texas.

He was a beloved son, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his sons, Garrett Jeffers, Adam Jeffers, and Jase Jeffers; his grandchildren, Maisyn Jeffers and Wyatt Jeffers; his mother, Clara Mae Jeffers; his nephews, Andrew and Eric; and his niece, Allison.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Lowell Jeffers, and his younger brothers, Daryl “Scott” Jeffers and Roger Allen Jeffers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 10-12pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in the Regency Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 1pm, with Pastor Carl Westbrook officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.

He will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and his deep appreciation for the outdoors.
