She was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She worked several years as an accountant and then as a teacher for Victoria Independent School District at Stroman & Victoria High Schools. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and participated in several community service organizations.
Jalayne is survived by her loving husband, Leonard Tupa; daughters, Tammy Fishman and her husband Carey of The Woodlands, Texas, Christi Tupa, MD of Victoria, Texas, Courtney Axcell and her husband Eric of Missouri City, Texas; sister, Susie Sides; grandchildren, Zachary and Joshua Fishman, William and Nicholas Axcell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Chad Anthony Tupa; brothers, A.J. Alkek and Eddie Alkek.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Jacob Koether officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Ron Wood, Randy Fajkus, John Stoika, Marty Bell, Steven Lesak and Sam Shamma. Honorary pallbearer is Billy Simmons. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.colonialfuneralhomevictoria.com
