Joan F. Walther

Joan was an avid chess player, a great decorator and had a green thumb. She was also an avid music lover, her love of all types of music had no bounds. She enjoyed sailing in her younger years and loved to go on camping trips with her husband, Richard and their three children, as long as it wasn’t too far of a car ride. Joan loved to knit and made blankets for everyone. She had a keen taste for hot tea and enjoyed collecting tea pots from all over.

She was a loving wife, outstanding mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Walther and grandson, Jonathan Isaac Black.

Joan is survived by her children, Paxton “PJ” Walther (Cheri) of Royse City, TX, David Walther (Lori) of Victoria, Carolyn Black (Scott) of Victoria; grandchildren, James Walther, Nicholas Walther (Shelbie), Laurel Walther, Shelby Walther Cline (Forrest), Samantha Johnston, Brandon Black, Slater Black (Skylar); great-grandchildren, Jarett and Jenna Walther, Levi and Bruwin Cline, Brooke Black, Annabelle Black Gonzales, Jonathan M. Black; brother, John Franklin of San Antonio; sisters, Barbra Kaprielian of Florida, Linda Evans of San Diego and Catherine Wyllie (Cam) of Edinburgh, Scotland.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
