Joe M. Cavazos Jr.

Joe M. Cavazos Jr., 64, of Victoria, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. He was born on March 25, 1949 in Runge, Texas to the late Joe A. Cavazos, Sr., and Oralia Molina Cavazos. Joe retired after a long career with Elders Distributing and Kroger’s Grocery Store.

Joe is survived by his wife, Nora Gonzalez Cavazos; daughter, Crystal C. Mendoza; step-daughters; Elaine D. Ramirez, Jo Anna J. De La Garza, both of Corpus Christi, Alexis De La Garza and Dana D. Moore; sons, Joe Cavazos III, Eric C. Cavazos, Justin L. Cavazos; step-son, Rick De La Garza; sisters, Alice C. Whitmire, Dora Cavazos, Rebecca C. Hough; brothers, Henry Cavazos, Ramiro Cavazos, both of San Antonio; Ray Cavazos, David Cavazos, Ricky Cavazos, Michael Cavazos and Steven Cavazos; 25 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by nephew, Matthew H. Cavazos, and great-nephew, Landon Canchola.

The Family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, 10 a.m. at Faith Family Church with Pastor Eli Sauceda officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his sons, Joe, Eric and Justin; brothers, Michael, David, Ray, Rick and Ramiro. Honorary pallbearers will be his wife, Nora, brother, Henry, Gavin Padilla and Tony Gonzalez.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
