She was born on June 23, 1942 to Ernest Spruell and Marguerite Ethel Reynolds in Harris County. She married her husband, Paul Beyer, on July 13, 1963 in Victoria, Texas. They were blessed with three children: Sally, Brenda, and Tommy.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and family member. She spent her years raising her children and nurturing grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she loved to hear all about their adventures and ups and downs of life. Her selfless, kind, and compassionate nature made her dearly loved by all.
All her life, Joyce loved animals, more specifically, birds of all kinds with hummingbirds as her favorite. She had great knowledge of different species and could tell you all about them. She also had a green thumb, and loved to show off the flowers she had grown. Nature was always something that was a part of her life since she was a child, and she made sure to pass down that love to her children and grandchildren. Joyce enjoyed playing cards, word searches, and wahoo. She was the reigning champion of wahoo, a marble game she taught all of her grandkids, and held that title very proudly.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Beyer; sisters, Patricia (Bernard) Kloesel and Ruby Rife; children, Sally (Steve) Kuecker, Brenda (Edward) Matula, and Thomas (Genevieve) Beyer; grandchildren, Spencer Clements, Stephen Clements, Elizabeth Matula, Kathryn Beyer, Gregory Matula, Kolby Beyer, Kaylee Beyer, Bryan (Sarah) Kuecker, Vanessa (Jeff) Hergotz; and great-grandchildren, Thomas Hergotz and Koda Kuecker.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ernest Spruell and Marguerite Ethel Reynolds; sisters, Linda Reynolds and Myrtle Hensley, and brother, Richard Reynolds.
