Juan "Shorty" Francisco Gutierrez Sr.

Francisco Gutierrez Sr., age 90, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012. He was born February 27, 1921 in Villa de la Pas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to the late Senon Gutierrez and Joaquina Galvan De Camarillo.

He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading and spending time at the Senior Citizens Center.

He is survived by daughters, Semia A. Gutierrez of Tomball, Diana Gutierrez of Spring, Georgianna Roy of Galena Park, Della Gutierrez of The Woodlands, and Jessica N. Gutierrez of Kent, United Kingdom; sons, Frank Gutierrez Jr., Xavier Gutierrez, and Samuel Gutierrez, all of Victoria; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catarina Sandoval Gutierrez; and daughter, Noemi Gutierrez.

A Rosary will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with the Rev.Gabriel Mensah officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Rosales, Rock Rosales, Nathan Venegas, Joshua Venegas, Jerry Roy, Brandon Emerson, and Danny Gutierrez.
