He was born December 21, 1941, in Victoria, Texas, to the late Myles George and Lela “Nita” Talbott Esterak. He is survived by his wife, Linda Marek Esterak, his brother David Rodney Esterak and wife Anna, children Debbie Esterak Pilsner, Harlan Henrichson, Machele Henrichson Torres and husband Eddie, Tammy Herchek and husband Mark, and Bobby Hodge, niece Robin Esterak, nephew, Reed Esterak and wife Stacey, grandchildren, Hailey, Heather, Erich, and Copper, 3 Great-Grandchildren, and his loyal dog, Sissy. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and wife, Natalie “Jane” Atkinson Esterak.
While attending Victoria High School, Ken worked at Dairy Treet. After graduation, in 1960, he attended Victoria College. In 1965, he began his career at ALCOA as an Electrician for the next 41 years, retiring in 2006.
He had many hobbies, which included deer hunting, gun collecting, gardening, and raising a menagerie of animals. He had a love for God’s creatures and raised several of them. During his lifetime, he raised horses, rabbits, chickens, goats, pigs, guineas, ducks, peacocks, pheasants, black bucks, cows, emus, many faithful dogs, as well as a pet skunk.
Ken was an avid horseman and was a member of The Wheel and Spur Riders club. He attended many trail rides from Victoria to San Antonio to ride in the San Antonio Livestock Show Parade.
From 1977 to 1983, he served as a Reserve Deputy for the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of the Goliad Masonic Lodge AF&AM No. 94 for 46 years. He was a 32° Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a Shriner of the Al Amin Shrine of Corpus Christi.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 1801 E. Red River St., Victoria, Texas, with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Victoria, Texas, under the auspices of the Goliad Masonic Lodge #94.
Pallbearers are Aaron Pozzi, Reed Esterak, Copper Torres, Jacob Butler, Mark Herchek, and David Rice.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ivan Garcia, Bryan Schoen, and Eddie Torres.
