LaVernia "Sissie" June Franz Charbula

A memorial service will be held at the Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria on Monday, April 25, 2011, at 10 AM with Father Gabriel Bentil presiding.

Sissie was born August 30, 1945, in Edna to Emma and Floyd Franz. She married Ronnie Charbula on September 28, 1962.

Sissie was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Inez, and a mail carrier for thirty-three years with the Inez Postal Service. Delivering not only mail, but kind words, special notes, fresh country eggs and vegetable exchanges to her many friends on the route made her more than just a mail carrier, and she always had special notes and treats for the kids along her mail route as well. She was a good friend and neighbor, well-loved by the Inez community. Gardening, tending to her animals, collecting antiques, fishing, crabbing, canning and making homemade treats were some of her favorite hobbies.

Survivors include her husband, Ronnie; one daughter, Pamela Charbula of Temple; one son, Ronald Ray Charbula and daughter-in-law, Barbara, of Inez; one dearly loved grandaughter, Brooke Myers, of Austin; loving mother, Emma Franz; two sisters, Nell Charbula and Billie Kucera; one brother, Floyd “Buddy” Franz and their families all of Inez.

She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Franz and grandparents, Thomas and Elsie Franz.

Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund for Emmanuel Lutheran Church or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
