Malcom Mueller, 59, lost his courageous battle with cancer and went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday morning January 18, 2017 with his loving wife, Carol, at his bedside. Although he was called Home too early, he did leave a lasting mark on his family and friends. Malcom never met a stranger, as he was a cool cat!
Malcom was a native Victorian born to the late Delton Max Mueller and Elizabeth Drapalla Mueller. He graduated from Stroman High School in 1976 and received an Associate’s Degree from Victoria College. Malcom’s professional calling was in the welding field. He started his welding career with HB Zachry. He so loved the welding profession that he ended up teaching it at Victoria College, Victoria Vocational School and Cuero High School. Guiding and assisting his students achieve professional success in their lives brought him great pride.
In addition to his love of creating metal art, Malcom also enjoyed spending time on his farm in Yorktown where he found peace in watching and photographing wildlife. While at the farm, he would also follow his passion of restoring antique tractors. This passion brought him recognition in the Crossroads area to the extent that The Victoria Advocate did a story on Malcom and his tractor restoration a few years back. How proud he was!
Malcom was fun loving, young at heart, and a self-described “late bloomer.” There was never a dull moment when Malcom was around; he could always bring on a good laugh and did so right up until he was called to Heaven. We bet he’s making the angels laugh right now!
Malcom is survived by his loving wife, schoolmate and soulmate, Carol Littleton Mueller, two step-daughters, April Claunch (Ronnie Higgins), Katherine McBride, four step-grandchildren, Christopher and Caden Claunch, Kendyl Higgins, MaKenzie Sparks; brother-in-law, James Littleton (Katie); and his beloved Blue Heeler, Mattie. The love that Malcom had for his family was so great that he and Carol recently adopted Carol’s grandchild, MaKenzie Sparks. MaKenzie and Malcom were as tight as two peas in a pod; he loved her as if she was his own, and she always brought a sparkle to his eye! Additional survivors include his three sons, Austin, Drew and Zachary Mueller; his Aunt Eleanor Drapalla Rohan, his sister, Marilyn Lange (Steven), along with his nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Claunch, Paul Faulkner, Ronnie Higgins, J. D. Ochoa, Mike Venglar and Daniel Roznovsky.
Honorary pallbearers will be Malcom’s friends from Don’s Firearms, Victoria All Sports and the Victoria Armory.
Visitation will be held at Rosewood Funeral Chapels on Monday, January 23, 2017 starting at 10:00 a.m. with celebration of life services beginning at 2:30 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Memory Gardens, 8819 US-87, Victoria, TX 77904.
