Margarete Russ Hodon (94) passed away June 18, 2024. Margarete was born on June 19, 1929, in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, to the late Margaret and Friedrich Russ. She met Gus Hodon while he was stationed in Germany for the U.S. Air Force and they married on March 30, 1962, in Taylor, Texas. Together, Gus and Margarete raised two sons and took pride in their accomplishments. She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, baking, cooking, watching football especially the Dallas Cowboys, classic movies, reading mystery novels, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Russell Hodon, Chuck Hodon and wife Sally; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, and Justin Hodon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Friedrich Russ; sister Inga Russ; and her husband of over 54 years, Gus Hodon.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23rd at 1:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria, Texas. A future private family interment will be held at Memory Gardens in Victoria, Texas.
