She was born November 3, 1921, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Bert Richard Ellis and Lilly Latta Ellis.
Marie was a member of Fellowship Bible Church of Victoria.
She is survived by her son, Larry G. McMullen of Victoria; grandchildren, Lisa McMullen Kolodzie of Fredericksburg, David McMullen of Victoria, Molly McMullen Bickham of Alice, and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Zafereo was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Wayne Ellis and Richard Bert Ellis.
Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Reverend Mike Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Bickham, Sean Bickham, Dustin McMullen, Dwight Harris, Robert Wood and Brian McMullen. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Kolodzie and Ryan Bickham.
