

Mary Helen Matula, 77, of Victoria passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011. She was born May 25, 1933, in Yoakum to the late Tom and Millie Targac Turek. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mary Helen enjoyed fishing, gardening and slot machines. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of the great outdoors, and enjoying time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, I. G. Matula, of Victoria; children, Diane (Larry) Gallup of Victoria, Kenneth (Cindy) Matula of Georgetown, Dale G. (Mary Beth) Matula and Karen (Michael) Volcik all of Victoria; a sister, Annie Weber, of Victoria; a brother, Jodie Turek of Victoria; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p. m. Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p. m.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p. m. Friday, April 15, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Rogers, Derek Rogers, Kenny Matula, Jr., Drey Matula, Kristopher Volcik, Miles Harvey and Taylor Harvey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Koehler, Rusty Griffith, Marvin Tomas, George Johnson, Rudy Jarzombek, Frankie Targac and all nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or Holy Family Catholic Church.
