Max A. Mayer

Max A. Mayer, 98, passed away on November 29, 2018. He was born October 11, 1920 in Nelson, Wisconsin to the late Martin and Mary Raab Mayer. He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Max married Lillian Bitterly and together they raised six children. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral and retired from Lack’s after 35 years.

Max is survived by his children, Dolores Tibiletti (Steve), John Mayer (Cynthia), Maxine Hawes (Mark), Annette Luedecke, Kenneth Mayer (Lynette) and Elaine Mayer; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; brothers, William and Joseph Mayer; sister, Mary Richter; great granddaughter, Haley Smith.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2, from 6 to 7 pm at Colonial Funeral Home followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral with Rev. Gary Janak presiding. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Tibiletti, Shane Tibiletti, Max Tibiletti, Mark Tibiletti, Jason Mayer, Christopher Leshikar, Caleb Meisner and Jonathan Parratt.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Caring Senior Service and Hospice of South Texas for the care of their father. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas or Our Lady of Victory Cathedral.
