Onora is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Max G Gomez, parents Antonio and Rafaela Carrera of Cuero, Texas, brothers David Carrera of Huntsville, Texas and Antonio Carrera Jr. of Yorktown, Texas, sister Sofia Carrera of Victoria, Texas, and grandson Ramiro Max Vasquez of Galveston, Texas.
Onora is survived by her daughters Debra Vasquez (Ramiro) of La Marque Texas, Melissa Gomez of Shiner, Texas, Stephanie Martinez (Mark) of Victoria, Texas, her 6 grandchildren Kai, Anthony (Amanda), Jacquelyn (Julio), Marcus (Valerie), Michael, Leeann and Alex, her 6 great-grandchildren Elijah, Jaide, Emilia, Kaleb, Sophia and Jules and her brother Richard Carrera of San Antonio.
Onora accepted Christ at the age of 19. She married her husband, Max, on September 16, 1961. They faithfully served the Lord together for 35 years. They started their ministry work at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Victoria, Texas. She, along with her family, stepped out in faith to start a new work in Bloomington, Texas, Mission Bautista, which eventually moved to the Greens Addition in Victoria, Texas. Later, she went on to start one more church in Victoria, Miori Lane Baptist Church. Onora spent the rest of her days as a member of First Baptist Church.
Onora, alongside her family, was a missionary all over Mexico for over 40 years. She received a degree from the Theological Seminary in San Antonio, Texas.
Onora honored God in every moment of her life. She shared God’s word with every person that she met while also offering help, prayer and salvation until her final moment. Onora was loved by all who met her. She will be deeply missed by her family, but they know they will be reunited with her one day in Heaven.

Pallbearers are Onora’s grandchildren, her oldest great-grandson and her oldest great-granddaughter.
Honorary Pallbearers are her son-in-laws, her brother and Ray Carrera.
