Robert B. McGuire Sr.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carmen; sons Robert B. McGuire, Jr., Corpus Christi, TX; Patrick J. McGuire, Bastrop, TX; grandchildren, Joseph Dee, Mara Rose, Caleb Anthony, Caitlin Amber, Liam Patrick, Ian Michael; brother Charles F. McGuire of Victoria, TX; and daughter-in-law’s Donna Renee and Teri. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his brother Patrick J. McGuire.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Bob started working by the age of 12 years delivering the Peekskill Evening Star. Over the next 58 years he worked as laborer, carpenter, supervisor and ultimately Sr. Civil Engineer for Formosa Plastics Corp where he would retire in May of 2011. He shared his dedicated work ethic with his family and anyone who would receive it.

His walk in faith progressed through time but at some point looking back at the blessings of his life, he knew that he was surrounded by the love of Christ, so he gave his life to Christ in baptism. His faith never wavered and continued to grow until his passing.

Family and friends will gather to honor Bob at a Memorial Service on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the Central church of Christ, Victoria, TX with a reception to follow. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Victoria Women’s Clubhouse, Victoria, TX. If you have any photos of Bob, please bring them to the Celebration of Life to share with the family.
