Virginia worked at the Victoria Electric Co-op retiring after 20 years and then worked as a Sam's Demo Lady where she enjoyed serving and talking to customers. Her greatest joy was her two great-granddaughters which made her smile every time she talked about them. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court St. Ann #369.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Gwen Etzler of Victoria; son, Tim Etzler (Susan) of Kingsville; sisters, Lillian Thurk of Victoria, and Evelyn Barcak of Hallettsville; favorite grandson, David Etzler (Candice) of Falls City, Texas; granddaughters, Janis Etzler of Houston, Elizabeth Etzler of Dallas; great-granddaughters, Brynlee and Brooklyn Etzler.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alphonse Etzler; brothers, Henry Boehm and Albert Boehm; sister, Rose Marie Boehm.
Family will receive guests from 5 to 7 pm with rosary to be recited at 7 pm on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory with Father Gary Janak presiding. Burial immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery. Pallbearers are David Etzler, Paul McCoy, Clarence Crawford, Casey Becker, Craig Carter and William Barcak.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Diocese of Victoria Education of Seminarian Fund or the Cathedral Center of Our Lady of Victory.
