Wilma in her early years worked at Elkin’s 5 and Dime in Shiner from 1944-1946. One day a young man by the name of John Schovajsa caught her eye and on the 26th of July 1947 they were married and to this union they were blessed with two children.
The couple moved to Victoria, where, in 1966, she became the secretary for Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. There, she worked for thirty-seven years and retired in 2003. Our Saviour’s was not only her place of work but also her church and her family.
Wilma was a wonderful seamstress and a quilter. Many friends and family were blessed with her labor of love creations.
Wilma (Momo) was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Schovajsa left a legacy of love that will continually be endowed in all who knew her.
