Today is the day he waited for, the day his name is in the obituary.
Unfortunately for us, but maybe not so much for him, we announce the passing of our very loved, Dolf Beitlich.
He didn’t go at 99 years old at the hand of a jealous lover as he had hoped, but peacefully in his sleep at 86 years old Monday April 21st, 2025.
He was many things to many people, a beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Many people knew him for many things, his years as a professional harness racer and horse trainer, winning and working with the best. His years on the maintenance department where there was nothing he couldn’t fix with some grit and a few curse words. All his years owing his own pool company with his best friend and ultimate companion, his dog Rocky. He developed a close relationship with his Niece Tawney niece later in life and he treasured every moment he had with her. She checked on him everyday and brought him very much joy.
He lived a long life and had the most interesting journey. Born in East Germany in 1938, escaping for his life with only a briefcase, a camera and a couple t-shirts in 1959 to avoid persecution from the German government and emigrating first to Canada and then to America where he became a citizen in 1999. If you heard any of his countless stories, please try to remember every word and count yourself lucky.
He is preceded in death by his Father Franz Beitlich, Mother Elizabeth Beitlich and Best Friend, Rocky Beitlich.
He is survived by grieved Daughter Dana and Son Troy, Grandson Riley and Granddaughters Sophia, Candice and Erin.
May he be pain free and at rest now.
