Guadalupe, retired GSgt, passed peacefully into eternal rest on December 26th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Lupe Morales
Served 21 years as Marine, in the United States Marine Corps. During his 21 years Morales (as he was called) was; A Drill Instructor at MCRD San Diego, Marine Recruiter Modesto CA, MCB Camp Pendelton (logistics), Oceanside CA, and MCLB Barstow CA, (Managed on the Job Training). Morales went on to continue his career as a Civil Service worker at MCLB Barstow and DRMO until he retired, for the 2nd time.
Guadalupe and Rose met in 1976 and married Dec 30th, 1978, in Phelan California. As a military family, together they moved throughout Southern and Northern California. As Guadalupe neared retirement the family settled in Victorville California in Aug of 1985.
Guadalupe was known by many names by family and friends.
“Morales / Lupe / Pop / Poppa Lupe” and “Grandpa Pupe”
He made his impact on everyone he worked with, raised and befriended within his journey. At any given time Lupe, could be observed making simple conversations with random people and creating a new local friend/neighbor. Yes, he could and would talk about meaningful things that left an impression or a better understanding.
“Pop” loved any and everything sports, from his Tigers, Lions and Wolverines from the state of Michigan. He loved to just conversate about all sports, it really didn't matter to him he just liked to talk all sports, even in the last 2 years he couldn't believe how much he enjoyed watching and talking golf!
No matter who you were, Lupe loved to talk about his ability to barbecue ribs, make the BEST ham, cook a mean steak and make the best eggs and pancakes on Xmas morning. (Yes, we would hear it all year). Not only would he love to talk about his ability to cook, but he also loved to judge others cooking at the Pina’s the annual Chili cookoff. In retrospect, more than judge, he liked to tell people how bad their chili was!
“Grandpa Pupe”, loved being a grandpa, he taught many of the grandchildren how to ride a bike, dance, sing (Mexican Music). He spoiled, coached their soccer teams, and even had to watch various Disney movies “UMP TEEN Times”, thus making/leaving his impact upon both of his 2nd & 3rd generations, within our family.
Most of all Lupe and Rose are known for their passion of life, helping and doing for others, no matter the cost.
