

Margrett Loanne Devin, formerly Margrett Loanne Bingham, died on November 18, 2017 in Victorville, California at the age of 89 years, following a brief illness. A native of San Diego, California, she was born on August 25, 1928, graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and married Robert Keltsie Devin. She traveled widely in the United States and Europe between 1953 and 1973 with her husband and family during his military service, returning to George Air Force Base with her family and settling in Apple Valley after the death of her husband in 1990. She was fond of Shakespeare, punctilious about grammar, stubborn as a mule, loyal to her family and friends, and stoic to the end of her days. She is survived by her brother John Bingham of Portland, Oregon; her brother-in-law Phillip Devin of Santa Monica; and her three children, Michael Devin of Berkeley, California; Steven Douglas Devin of Reno, Nevada; and Patricia Anne Slater, of Apple Valley. She loved her family, and was blessed with two grandchildren Jenna Slater and Kaitlyn Slater from her daughter’s marriage to Tad Martin Slater. Her daughter’s family provided her with constant support and joy in her later years. She was an inspiration to her children and was loved by those with whom she spent any time. Her children and grandchildren were guided and counseled by her during her life, which they will always remember with grateful hearts. Private burial at Riverside National Cemetery.
