Marie Lois Degnan

Marie Lois Degnan, age 89, of Hesperia, California met our heavenly father on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Marie was born in Elizabthtown, NY. She was married to Harry Degnan for 68 years, they were blessed with 4 children. She was a proud military wife stationed in Rhode Island, Hawaii and eventually San Diego, where they settled in nearby Santee, California. There she became the Park Superintendent of Santee Lakes for 20 years. She loved her job and was very good at it, she ran the park like a well oiled machine. She was the visionary of the Santee Lakes campground, which she and her colleagues broke ground in 1982. After retirement, Marie and Harry settled in Hesperia, CA. She loved to travel and go camping and spend time with her family.

Marie leaves behind her loving husband Harry Degnan, 3 children, Randy, Cheryl and Patti, and she has reunited with her daughter Connie in heaven. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

A visitation for Marie will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Desert View, 11478 AMARGOSA RD, VICTORVILLE, CA 92392. Following the visitation will be a committal service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
