Martha, born on June 23, 1930, in Wisconsin to Nicholas and Gertrude, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, in Apple Valley, California just four days shy of her 95th birthday.
Martha was one of 13 siblings and spent her early years on the family farm, where she developed a strong work ethic, a deep love for family, and a quiet strength that carried her through life. At the age of 22, she moved to Arizona, where she met her first husband, William. Together, they raised three beloved children during their seven years of marriage.
Throughout her life, Martha worked as a waitress in high end restaurants, where she brought charm, grace, and warmth to every table she served. Her kindness and humor left a lasting impression on those she met, whether a stranger or a lifelong friend.
Martha had a spirited love for Las Vegas and especially enjoyed playing the slot machines at the Frontier Hotel. It was there that she eloped with and married, Juaneal. Their union lasted 23 wonderful years, marked by love, laughter, and shared adventures.
In her later years, Martha found joy and friendship in her community at Whispering Winds of Apple Valley. One of her favorite pastimes was playing bingo with her friends, moments filled with camaraderie, and lighthearted fun.
Martha was the proud matriarch of a large and loving family. She leaves behind 3 children, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, all of whom she adored and who brought her endless joy. In years past, her home was always full of the smell of delicious food from her kitchen, the buzz of family conversations, and playing in the background, a Lakers game, which in later years changed to a Warriors game after Kobe passed, her favorite player of all time.
Martha’s life was rich in love, family, resilience, and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
