

William Stanley Sims was born to William and Sallie Sims on May 25, 1962 in Indianapolis, Indiana. William Sims lived in Compton, CA for 5 years. The Sims family moved to Pomona, CA in 1972. William was baptized in Jesus Name and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at Elder Eades church in Los Angeles, CA when he was 13 years old. God was the center of his life. He was Assistant Youth Leader and Deacon at Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Altadena, CA under the leadership of District Elder John Corley, Sr. He hosted “Friday Night Live” services for the youth department. He assisted his father Bishop William Sims Sr. at Faith Tabernacle church in Pomona, CA. William graduated Pomona High School in 1980. During which William was known to carry a briefcase and witness about Jesus to all who knew him. He loved football and played cornerback; he proudly wore number 52.. He was a Student Councilman and graduated Mt. San Antonio College in 1982 with and Associate of Arts degree in Human Resources. William married the love of his life Viola Kinslow on September 10, 1983. William and Viola were “inseparable” for 33 wonderful years as their love was “timeless”. To that blessed union was born the focus and loves of his life his children Tamara, Christina & William. William was a wonderful dad who instructed his children to live their lives for Jesus and to let their lives be a book they write and turn their own pages to make their lives what they wanted them to be. The sky is the limit! His smile was infectious and he knew no stranger. He mentored anyone who needed advice as a life coach would. His aspiration was to start a non-profit organization mentoring men to become better parents and teach them to become diesel drivers called “Day Spring”. He worked diligently for 22 years as a diesel truck driver in the commercial transportation industry to provide for his family navigating over one million miles receiving safe driver awards. William Sims was founder and Pastor of Assembly of Praise Apostolic Church in Corona, CA. William was ordained as an Elder in 1993 with the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith. William received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology from CA State University, San Bernardino in 2005. William leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife and best friend Viola Sims, his daughters Tamara Franklin (Quinton), Christina Scott (James) and his name sake William Sims (Patrecia) His Grandchildren Unique, Quinton, DeAnthony, Naomi and his new granddaughter to be, his Parents Bishop William & Dr. Sally Sims, his siblings Dr. Deborah LeBlanc’(Robert Beavers), Carolyn Evans, Kathy Johnson(Lee), James Sims and Larry Sims(Karen); brother-in-law Thomas Kinslow(Gail) and sister-in-law Kathryn Rolland and innumerable uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, neighbors and brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ.
