

Mrs. Jovita M. Johnson Conway, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, age 72, was born on March 10, 1943 in Ava, Missouri to Horace and Delpha Johnson, and passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 in Sulphur.
Jovita spent most of her life in Vinton after marrying Roy James Conway. Together they raised three wonderful children. She worked as a beautician, but remained a homemaker always. Her hobbies were camping, watching old movies, taking pictures at family events, and playing with her grandchildren and God children. She loved sewing and making crafts in her younger years, and in their retired years they loved to travel.
Survivors include her three children, Roy James "Jay" Conway, Jr., Kim Conway-Pennick and husband, Doyle, and Scooter Conway and wife, Vanessa all of Sulphur; a step-daughter, Patricia Mulholland and husband, Bobby of Bridge City, Texas; eight grandchildren, Paige Weaver, Stephen Pennick, Brennum Conway, Caitlin Conway, Ciara Conway, Emily Conway, Brena Hudson, and Benji Mulholland; three sisters, Maryann Stanley of Mauriceville, Texas, Loretta Phillips, Sue Campbell and husband, Donny both of Orange, Texas; a brother, Jimmy Johnson and wife, Patsy of Orange, Texas; six great-grandchildren, and her best friend, Clara Jackson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Carlos Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Orange, Texas under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m.- 12:30 at the funeral home.
